My Background
Vision
Good communication is vital in today's eclectic, sometimes stressful society. If miscommunication is allowed to fester, we lose details and waste time. This may be entertaining for Shakespeare or a sitcom, but it only curtails our goals here in the real world. I started Elite Writing Enterprises to help foster succinct communication and expression of thought among everyone, whether they are large corporations, small community organizations, or individuals.
History
I was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. As a teenager I excelled at reading and finding spelling mistakes, and my mother would often ask me to proofread her work documents as a "second pair of eyes." By the time I reached my last year of college, writing was becoming a big interest, and since then I have delved into editing, proofreading, online communication, and related topics.
Education
I earned a Bachelor of Science in 1991 from Towson State University in Baltimore, with a major in Geography and a minor in Music. Having worked for the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) since college, I have learned that some government agencies and private businesses are in need of editors: Plain writing for normal folks. I continue to read and take classes to increase my knowledge and awareness of all things literary, business-related, and web-based.

Tools
Like most other professionals, I have my favorite tools of the writing/editing trade. I am proficient with Windows operating systems and use Microsoft Word for word processing just about every day. I am also extremely familiar with Excel spreadsheets and Powerpoint visual presentations. Adobe Illustrator is my software of choice when creating or editing illustrations for HTML and CSS (Hypertext Markup Language and Cascading Style Sheets) web projects. I have also experienced Photoshop and am quite impressed by QuarkXpress publishing software.
Interests
Part of my time is devoted to being a musician, arranger, and conductor in the Rockville and Columbia areas of Maryland. Other peripheral interests include, but are not limited to animals, architecture, desserts, digital animation/art, investing, landscaping, online games, publishing, model railroading, swing dance, and travel. I hope to learn more about these and many other subjects via the writing industry and its vast array of experts.
